Blocked combustion air
A furnace needs the combustion air its installation specifies; storage and renovations can alter that path.
What to observe
Record new enclosures, stored items, blocked grilles or changes near the equipment.
A field example
A newly enclosed mechanical room can alter the air supply that the original installation depended on. Show the technician the renovation change; burner cleaning does not restore missing combustion air.
What the written work should say
A qualified technician should verify air supply and venting against the installed appliance and code.
Where this task stops
A clean burner cannot compensate for inadequate combustion air.
