Post-renovation duct debris
Drywall dust, sawdust and demolition material can enter openings left uncovered during construction.
What to observe
List open registers, dates and affected floors; collect photos of actual material at accessible openings.
A field example
An uncovered floor register can catch screws and drywall scraps. Ask whether the branch can be inspected and material retrieved without sweeping it toward the furnace or into another room.
What the written work should say
Ask for a targeted inspection and containment plan, including protection of the blower and coil.
Where this task stops
Routine filter changes may not remove piles of construction debris trapped in a branch.
