ECM blower motor dust
An electronically commutated motor sits at the wheel and includes controls that should be kept clear of loose debris and liquid.
What to observe
Identify the motor type from the actual model label; photograph buildup near its ventilation path and wiring, without probing energized parts.
A field example
A fan that ramps oddly may be responding to its programmed mode or restriction rather than motor dust. Record the mode, speed change and filter condition so electrical diagnosis is not replaced by an automatic motor wash.
What the written work should say
The qualified worker should protect electronics, avoid saturating the motor, restore connectors and verify the programmed operating mode.
Where this task stops
Do not confuse motor replacement or programming with ordinary fan cleaning.
